Mix mistress • 03.01.08
I’m putting together a gift mix of 80s covers — either covers that were released in the 80s (like David Lee Roth’s version of “Just a Gigolo”), or iconic/craptacular 80s songs that have been covered more recently. I have a few gems in my collection already, but I’m looking for more. Any ideas?
The Hoff not included (damn!) • 02.28.08

It takes genuine talent to outshine an acting juggernaut like David Hasselhoff. But, unbelievable though it may seem, the Hoff was once upstaged by a car. And it wasn’t just any old car, it was KITT, or to give its full title, the Knight Industries Two Thousand. This sleek, customized Pontiac Trans-Am was impervious to attack, could cruise at 300mph and was loaded with hi-tech armaments. It could even talk, albeit in an incredibly camp, condescending voice. And now, thanks to your hairy-chested friends at the Firebox Foundation, you can own a fully-functioning, R/C version of one of crummy TV’s greatest vehicles.

Board Games based on video games • 01.30.08
Ooh, an exhaustive look at video games that have been repackaged as board games.
Now, if someone will come up with a good list of TV shows and movies made into board games. Though that one will be considerably longer.
