Commence au rock, part deux
Sign me up, yet again. Rock Band 2 tracklist.
I’m assuming it’ll work with existing equipment. I know they’re offering a ridiculously expensive (yet incredibly fucking awesome) drumkit for like $300, but I can’t imagine them trying to get everyone to buy yet another drum/guitar/mic…
I’ll paste the list after the break:

Oh, and here are those drums:

Let the song selection nitpicking begin. I’ll throw my hat in with “That’s the GNR song they pick?!”
Admittedly, it’s not from Appetite however it has the [good/bad] fortune to be from Chinese Democracy which means that the good folk at Harmonix have an out…they can be as late with RB2 as they’d like, and just blame Axl.
I think Eye of the Tiger may just make up for the GnR.
From what I’ve read, not only will v2 work with your existing equipment, but all of the songs you downloaded for v1 will still work too.
This list makes me so wriggly with joy that I don’t have the strength to nitpick. I am wondering why Spacehog still hasn’t made the cut yet (licensing issues?), but otherwise, I am so fucking happy to see the GoGos, the Muffs, Duran Duran, Jane’s Addiction and my all-time favorite Lush song here that I can’t complain (yet).
OMG! *And* The Ace of Spades! This is going to be the longest wait ever.
Did Jessica just geek out over Motorhead?!?
Dude, Rock Band has changed my life.
I ran across another article that showed a third party add on which consisted of three cymbals you clamp onto the existing RB drums. So, I’m there. Surely three cymbals will cost a fraction of that $300 drum set.
You guys could always come visit in September…the xbox version comes out 9/14. But, PS folk only need to wait another month, so really, not too far off at all.
Oooooh…. “Shooting Star” is on the list! That tune reached legendary earworm status for me a couple months back. We’re talking 3 weeks solid, including any time I woke up in the middle of the night. It wouldn’t budge until a friend managed to wedge Shambala by Three Dog Night in its place.
I love that they picked “Drain You” - it’s easily my favorite track on Nevermind - but it seems like a strange choice given how many singles were on that album. “Alex Chilton” is also a nice touch.
It might be time to break down and invest!
oh, I just realized that the competing game “Rock Revolution” will have Pantera, but RB2 does not! That just make me fucking hostile!
Annoying about Pantera, but imagine how stupid you’d look drumming along to Fucking Hostile on these ridiculous drums?
They’re like the Casio Keyboard of drums. The guitars probably look like ukuleles.
