Ugh. You know, I also felt this way last week, but it wasn’t until this morning that the big, celestial STOP sign appeared. I actually sleepwalked to the alarm and re-set it this morning. I thought I’d just go in later; our office is flexible as long as you get your hours in and your work finished.
Finally I realized that I had no problem with the idea of working today, I just didn’t want to 1. drive to Miami and 2. listen to people bitch once I got there. So I’m playing the home version today, which ensures that even with some level of distraction, I’m destined to get more accomplished with less irritation. Thank goodness for technology!
I thought my workstation’s hard drive was going to try to fly away it was spinning so fast and loud. I know I don’t have everything backed up that I should; I’m grimacing with every keystroke until I can grab the external drive from home over lunch.
Damn, rough way to start the week, Roby. Were you able to get the drive and make backups? That kind of thing sucks…it’s sort of the office equivalent of Indiana Jones running away from the giant ball.
I’m to the point where I know I need to get a new drive (there’s a slight burning smell). I’m opening a thread over on ‘vidia for anyone who wants to chime in on the best way to migrate data.
It’s not the drive. I crawled under my desk and took the side panel off. It’s the power supply fan, which is much easier and cheaper to replace! It is sticking and then freeing up; I don’t want to know what the burning smell is, but at least it’s not my client’s invoices or NIN/Britney mashup MP3s!
Huh, I kinda feel like that today too. Sick and crabby sums up my sunny disposition pretty well.
You know, I’ve discovered that it’s a lot easier to take the world’s BS when you like your job.
Of course, I’ve been lucky in that realm recently. The new job is cool and I was working for David before that (which of course rocked).

I like that this is turning into an ongoing thread! Please, all, feel free to post here whenever you are having a shitty day.
