Continuing the Rock Band Obsession…

Posted in Games, Music on Jan 04, 2008 by Alexious

Found on Evil Avatar, news that the February issue of the Official XBox Magazine will have 3 exclusive tracks for Rock Band.

Serious? You’d better believe it. The disc bundled with OXM’s February 2008 issue contains 3 songs that you’ll find ONLY on this disc:
* Freezepop — “Sprøde”
* Bang Camaro — “Rock Rebellion”
* Count Zero — “Shake”

Does anyone else think it’s quaint to actually have to put a disc in a drive to get new content?

I just realized I have no idea who any of these bands are… does that mean I’m out of touch with the “cool and independent” music scene? Or are these just three crappy songs that nobody wants?

How do you pronounce “ø”?

At least it’s not on a Zip disc… the 8-track of data.

Some label probably has some “up and coming” bands, the kind that are the first opening acts on the summer buttrock fests. Of the songs I can “buy” in-game for Guitar Hero 3, I recognize two bands.

I think that many of the in-game ones, especially once you go to the South America tour, are by bands containing employees of Harmonix, the Rock Band developers. So, in those cases, yeah, they’re not going to be well known.

I just hope they release it on a floppy, so I can finally play on my Apple IIe.
