Bacon + Turkey = Awesome

Of all of the gross bacon-jokes we’ve made, this is the one I’m most likely to actually try.  The commenters address the lack of crispy skin (bake the turkey most of the way before applying bacon), and I think the fat and smokiness of the bacon would add so much to the bird.  Yum!

It’s revolting-looking, but I bet it’s good. If you could work in some tomatoes, you’d have an insta-turkey club.

As it turns out, one of my coworkers said that her family always cooks the turkey with bacon. She said that they also glaze it with maple syrup, but she didn’t say if they did that before roasting or sometime in the middle. Her exact words were, “it’s reeeeeaally good.”
